At the heart of the studio is a completely rebuilt 9-foot Baldwin concert grand with ivory keys.
A full-size concert instrument gives students an extraordinary opportunity to explore tone production, voicing, pedaling, dynamic range, projection, and advanced repertoire on the scale of an instrument designed for the concert stage.
Boston 5'10" Grand Piano
The Boston 5'10" grand provides a contrasting acoustic experience, with a different action, response, and tonal character.
Moving between instruments encourages students to listen critically and learn how to adapt their movement, touch, pedaling, and sound to the piano in front of them—an essential skill for developing pianists.
Yamaha Disklavier 6'3" Grand
The adjoining technology studio features a 6'3" Yamaha Disklavier grand piano, combining the experience of an acoustic grand with sophisticated digital and interactive capabilities.
The Disklavier plays a central role in the studio's work with technology, online and hybrid instruction, recording, and innovative approaches to piano learning.

Designed around enhanced visual communication, the Casarotti Online & Hybrid Piano Studio brings together a 6'3" Yamaha Disklavier, 55-inch display, six camera perspectives, professional microphones, recording technology, and specialized lighting to create an immersive environment for both in-person and online instruction.
Students can see demonstrations and musical passages from multiple angles in real time—including detailed views of the keyboard, hands, arms, pedals, posture, score, and teacher demonstrations.
A passage can be viewed from above the keyboard, from the side, from the pianist's perspective, or through a close-up of a particular movement.
This is particularly valuable when exploring piano technique, coordinated movement, rotation, alignment, fingering, pedaling, voicing, tone production, and musical interpretation.

His work in piano pedagogy, healthy and coordinated technique, technology, visual communication, group piano, sight-reading, artificial intelligence, and online/hybrid instruction has been presented at universities and major professional conferences, including MTNA and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy.
